Have you ever wondered about the name of my business? Well, in today’s blog I’d love to share how it came to be! As I mentioned in my last post, the inspiration for my business started coming to me while on a trip to Europe with my Mom, more specifically when we were exploring Greece.

While roaming Athens’ streets (you see where this is going?) I began to daydream about owning my own wedding stationery business. I knew I eventually wanted a career that would give me the freedom to travel more often, work directly with couples, and explore my creativity and design skills on a daily basis. During this trip, my Mom and I spent our days eating wonderful food, talking and shopping with the locals, and learning about the city’s history and patron goddess, Athena.

Athena encompasses all the features of a true girl boss. She was known for being wise, strategic, strong, beautiful, and even skilled in the creative arts. Her symbol in Greek culture is an owl, and as a memento, my Mom and I bought each other miniature, twin, turquoise and brass owls. The owl, I fondly named “Athena”, is always on my desk as a constant reminder for me to keep pushing forward to reach my goals, to live my best life, and to provide the highest quality customer service to my couples so they have the most wonderful and stress-free experience while designing their custom stationery.

Shortly after that trip, when it came time to think about a name for my new venture, I remembered the inspiration and beauty of Athens and it’s history, and I decided to name my wedding stationery business Athena Street Creative. It’s always an honor for me to be able to create custom invitations that will properly commemorate your wedding day, and that will be a cherished keepsake to symbolize your never-ending love story. Whether you’re envisioning a unique modern event, an elegant classic affair, or a soft feminine celebration, I will cater to your style and will collaborate with you to bring your vision to life.
