Welcome to the updated website!

Who doesn’t love a little refresh?

I’m so excited to finally launch the new website and blog for Athena Street Creative! Yay! It’s been a labor of love, and I’d like to share with you the top five reasons I decided to do the overhaul!

1. I fell in love with Showit

I previously used Shopify for my website, and although it was great, I couldn’t customize the site as much as I wanted without some intricate coding. Enter Showit. I discovered this website builder on Instagram and signed up for a free trial right away. I loved it! It’s so easy to use, 100% customizable (just drag and drop) and there is NO CODING! It’s amazing, and I don’t think I could ever switch to another builder again! Extra bonus – Showit works seamlessly with WordPress, even if your blog is already existing!

2. Consistent Branding

Since everything is completely customizable with Showit, I was able to tailor the site to reflect Athena Street Creative’s branding. With a lot of website builders, you have to compromise on some of your branding styles because they cannot match perfectly (unless you’re a coding expert). However, with Showit, everything matches exactly as I want it to! I edited the colors, fonts, design elements, and photography to perfectly reflect my fun, feminine, and tailored style!

3. Client Experience

The old site had a lot more copy on all the pages, but it was confusing to navigate, repetitive, and did not lend itself to a great user experience. I wanted a site that had all the information anyone would need prior to meeting me, but didn’t overwhelm them or seem too chaotic. This is why I chose a single page scrolling site! You get all the information you could want, and it’s organized in order from top to bottom. There’s a navigation bar that is always visible, so you can easily move up and down the page. I absolutely love that you never have to stray away and sift through multiple pages (unless you come to the blog). I was able to condense all the information from my old wedding invitation site, and I was also able to expand my portfolio gallery using this new format.

4. Wedding Invitation Galleries

Previously, I didn’t have a great way to showcase my work. I ended up with a portfolio page that was hard to edit and took forever to load. Now, with this new site, I have beautiful galleries, perfectly organized into three categories so you find exactly what you are looking for. Whether you want to see save the dates, wedding invitations, or day of paper, I now have a carousel gallery for each that will be updated seasonally with my latest work!

5. I love updates

I think updating a website is super fun, I usually do at least one mini edit each year! An update is like giving yourself a makeover, and who doesn’t love a fun makeover?! I’m a designer in all aspects of my life, and I like to keep my site current and beautiful for my wedding clients to view! I don’t think I’ll be swaying from Showit in the future, but you may notice little changes to the style here and there over time!
